Austra Health consultants are RNs and therefore well placed to help you find work that best suits your career goals and lifestyle. To work with Austra Health, simply follow the steps below.  

Step 1 - Register

Get started, complete our online registration form so that we can gain an understanding of your experience and work preferences.  You will need to have the following information with you:

• Your Australia Work Visa number (if you are not an Australian/NZ permanent resident or citizen)
• Your resume (in a digital format to upload)
• The name and contact details of at least two professional referees
• Your Working with Children Check number and issue date (if you have one)

As part of your registration, you will be required to complete an online workplace safety induction.  Click here to register with Austra Health.

Step 2 - Meet Us

If your application is successful, an Austra Health consultant will contact you to organise a time to meet.  If you are overseas, this can be arranged via telephone.

At the meeting, you will need to provide the following documentation:

• Proof of ID
• Your Registration Certificate (AHPRA)
• Your original nursing qualification
• Proof of any additional nursing qualifications
• Proof of ‘years of service'
• Your banking details
• Your Tax File Number (apply for a TFN)
• Your superannuation fund details
• Proof of mandatory training (Basic Life Support (BLS), Fire and Safety or Manual Handling) if completed in last 12 months (refer to Step 3)

You will also be required to complete a drug calculation test.

Step 3 - Training & Induction

If you have not completed your Basic Life Support (BLS), Fire and Safety or Manual Handling training in the last twelve months, you will be required to complete the updated training before you are eligible to work. We can assist in scheduling training updates on your behalf if you would like us to.

Step 4 - Start

Once you have been issued with an ID badge, two Austra Health shirts and a timesheet book, you're ready to start!  To find out about the benefits you are eligible for when working with Austra Health, click here.
